Comping up to Huawei Matebook X Pro Review, it’s a 14-inch laptop with various new features like Intel’s 10th generation processor with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU for better visuals. It continues with the tradition of a pop-up camera on its keyboard. It comes with some new excellent features and technology, but most of its features are still the same. PROCESSOR

Huawei’s Matebook X Pro comes with great styling and finish. It has a great display. It has been paired with Intel’s 10th generation processors. Intel’s Core i5 version and Intel’s Core i7 are the two processors that are provided with the laptop. The i5 version is around 1500 dollars while the i7 version is around 1800 dollars. Both are low voltage CPU’s and are part of the Intel’s Comet Lake family.

DISPLAY

Huawei Matebook X Pro

Huawei Matebook X Pro is a high-end laptop with 3000 x 4000 3:2 IPS touch screen display. It comes with very tiny bezels with over 90% screen to body ratio. Since it does not have a camera on its screen, it can easily afford to go with such a high ratio. Its great display has 100% coverage of sRGB. It comes with a bright screen to help people use it with as much comfort outdoors as it is being used indoors.

DESIGN

Huawei Matebook X Pro

Talking about Huawei Matebook X Pro Review, it has a sturdy metallic design. It might feel heavy to people who are used to ultra-light laptops, but it is not the heaviest one in its class. At around 1.3 kg, it is still a very light option over other heavyweights.

It comes with a backlit keyboard. It has become an essential feature, especially for the gamers to have a backlit keyboard which makes the keyboard look more beautiful. The backlit keyboard is especially good for those people who work in low lights as they don’t have to search that hard for keys when they are already lit.

It comes with a huge trackpad. It allows for smooth gestures and easy workflow. The laptop also comes with a fingerprint sensor which is situated on the power button. It is not the best position to place the fingerprint due to its small size. Many of its competitions come with face recognition in addition to fingerprint sensors. It would have been a clear advantage for Huawei if it had provided face recognition for security in addition to a fingerprint scanner to its users.

BARRIERS

Regardless of its beautiful design, it still has some issues that are strange for its price. One of the major design flaws is the placement of the camera. To reduce the bezels on the laptop, the camera is placed right on the keyboard with the function keys. This is as awkward a camera can get, just right in your face.

Another issue with the laptop is its hinge. Although it sits at a comfortable position for all sorts of users, it still isn’t flexible enough. At this high price, that is the least that one may expect. Many of its competitors provide with greater flexibility.

It comes with two USB-C ports with an option of fast charging and only one USB-A 3.0 port.  Another issue that keeps coming, again and again, is its cost. It does not come cheap by any means. It is far more costly for its features than it should. Its cost is more than that is expected from a high-end laptop even if it brings features which can match MacBook Pro.

An excellent battery backup and fast charging capabilities make it a traveller friendly device. It can easily last a person for over 8 hours. Since it can charge up fast, 8 hours are actually enough for regular usage.

CONCLUSION

Huawei has created an innovative device which is a high-end one which does not come cheap. Is it worth the money? There are other options like Dell XPS 13, which has almost similar features at much less prize. You can easily find various gaming laptops and even apple laptops which are equal to it or better than it in one way or another. So what makes it stand alone from its counterparts? It has one of the best screens for its price. Not only that, some of its features are unmatched by its rivals by a long distance. The final decision rests entirely with you. If you can compromise with the camera, low graphics and high price with a great screen, lightweight and durability, then the Huawei Matebook X Pro is for you.
